SIOR
The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors is the leading professional commercial and industrial real estate association. With more than 2,200 members in 450 cities, the Society represents today’s most knowledgeable, experienced, and successful commercial real estate brokerage specialist. Real estate professionals who hold the SIOR designation are recognized as the most experienced and capable practitioners in any market.
SIOR is the largest and most effective commercial real estate referral network in North America. From September 2000 - December 2001, more than 580 SIOR members participated in a cooperative transaction with another SIOR and filed a report. The total volume of transactions was more than $1.1 billion with more than 33 million square feet of space leased or sold.
CCIM
The CCIM Institute has been conferring the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation since 1969. Only 6,000 commercial real estate professionals hold the CCIM designation, which reflects the caliber of the program and why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry.
A Certified Commercial Investment Member is a recognized professional in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis. As an experienced expert, a CCIM is an invaluable resource to the commercial real estate owner, investor, and user.
With a business network encompassing 1,000 markets throughout the world, CCIMs effectively direct local, national, and international commercial real estate transactions. Networking remains the cornerstone of the CCIM designation and the reason for its success.
In connection with both SIOR and CCIM, a membership web site provides numerous tools to its members, including broadcast email, mailing lists, and the ability to list properties.
